A student must be enrolled at San Bernardino Valley College to receive credit for CLEP examinations. Credit will not be granted for equivalent or more advanced coursework that has already been completed. Students will receive appropriate credit for CLEP examinations as indicated in the table below, in accordance with Title 5, §55052.5. SBVC faculty have determined equivalencies to SBVC courses. Additional information and important examination policies are provided in the CLEP Exam Notes following the chart. Students should be aware of the following:
- CLEP cannot be used for Cal-GETC.
- University of California does not accept CLEP Examinations.
- Acceptance of CLEP varies at campuses of the CSU.
- At SBVC, credit for CLEP Examinations is on a pass/no pass basis only; no letter grades are assigned.
- Some CLEP Examinations may be under review at SBVC. CLEP scores for examinations no longer offered are evaluated on an individual basis.
- Students request credit for CLEP through the Admissions and Records Office, AD/SS 100, or by calling (909) 384-4401.

- The CLEP chart is based on the most current information available at the time of catalog publication.
- Refer to the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office (CCCCO) AP, IB, and CLEP Examination Chart for passing scores and credit details per Title 5 §55052.5.
- For CLEP language examinations, if a student passes more than one examination in the same language other than English (e.g., two French examinations),
only one examination may be applied toward the baccalaureate. A passing score of 50 is considered Level I and earns six units of baccalaureate credit.
The higher score identified for each language examination is considered Level II and earns nine units of baccalaureate credit and placement in General Education Area 3A, where applicable.
